Nikoo Hashemi is a contemporary visual artist who lives and works between Shiraz and Tehran. Her works explore natural forms, their aesthetics, and expressive qualities. She is inspired by organic forms and interested in how these forms bear resemblance to human expressions and emotions. In her paintings, she investigates the transformation process of plants and their relations to evolving human senses while exploring her self-identity through the environment which she is exposed to. She is enchanted with the active quality of negative and positive spaces created by trees and plants, especially the palm tree which is native to the southern part of Iran and often treated like a human being. She employs different mediums and techniques to enhance spaces with narratives. She achieved a BA in painting from University of Art and Architecture in Tehran.
