I am a London-based artist working between painting and sculpture. My work is intuitively driven, deriving from personal emotions and social issues I am confronted with and respond to. It revolves around the abstraction of the human body I play with themes such as gender, sexuality and empowerment, as well as putting a tongue in cheek perspective on the objectification of the female form, reclaiming the gaze, exaggerating elements of form to create voluptuous caverns and expansive bodyscapes.
Colour and line are crucial in my practice. The imagery of my paintings derives from photography of bodies which I fracture and reconstruct to create an ambiguity of form, to create something bizarre; a metaphor and reading of my work which I encourage.
